Ano Machi Kono Machi belongs
to one of the well-known poems written and composed by the duo Ujō
Noguchi (1882-1945) and
Shinpei Nakayama (1887-1952). It was made in 1923 for a children's magazine called Kodomo no
Kuni (Children's Land). It told children not to stay too long outside and get
home on time before nightfall, because - back then - there were not many laterns
on the streets, especially in the countryside.
